    Default Too quiet this morning

I wonder why, when Mississippi built the major lakes, why didn't they put turbines in the spillways? Seems to me that they might have missed out on a way to generate some natural lec-tricity. Hmmm

    Cool

Dont think the lakes can run enough water thru em without creating flood problems in the delta. Thats their main purpose. They will tell you real quick that they are not for recreation b[U]t flood control.

Yep....Mr. Jim's on to the answer. The turbines are too expensive with too much maintenance to be only run when they're pulling excess water. Plus the grid needs the power on demand, not at the whim of rainfall.

I ain't being quite today BTW. Matter of fact, I'm wearing really loud underwear right now.

    Wannabe...

Waste of money!!! I think not. It would be my governmental obligation to spend frivolously. I'll just have to get on the horn with Al Gore and have him fire up his weather machine to make it rain more.
