    They look good, just need to make sure they won't turn to the side while pullin or when you have a big catfish hit your cranks. If they turn it's a good chance your rod will get pulled out of the holder.

    I don't see why those won't work & it's good to see you like to build stuff for yourself, but like Slabo said, make sure they won't turn toward the back of the boat, especially the ones on the port side.

    Slabo is correct. If you can weld some kind of stop they would be even better. I have had several rods pulled overboard and it's a sickening feeling.
