I took the truck and moved my boat about a 150 ft. from my boat shed to the front of my shop to do a little work on it.......big dummy, I did not think I needed to hook the safety chains as I was not going to be on the highway. Bad mistake. I got through working on the boat and was going back to the boat shed with it and I did not have the hitch latched down good and it came off of the ball. Like a dummy I jumped put of the truck and ran to try to catch it and pulled a muscle in my leg and I can hardly walk now. Anyway the boat went about 75 ft and the foot of the motor hit the entance door on my shop. It broke my transom saver, broke my stabilizer off of the cavitation plate and the prop cut three nice holes in my metal shop door as well as bent the door up bad. The skeg cut a nice gash in the door as well. Now I am hobbleing around on a bad leg....cannot get the door open to get in the shop. I cannot pry the lock thing over because we bolted a piece of steel to prevent theft and welded the dadgummed nuts. I cannot open the overhead doors because they are secured on the inside for security. So I cannot get in the shop to get a jack to pick the fron tof the boat trailer up so I can swing the trailer jack down. Dang, I am having fun. The good news is my stainless steel prop does not look bent and I think the shaft is OK because it turns free and easy and does not appear to have any wobble. Anyhow....I am gonna cool off and then see what I can do next.
