    In a bid to stem taxpayer losses for bad loans guaranteed by federal housing agencies Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac, Senator Bob
    Corker (R-Tenn) proposed that borrowers be required to make a 5% down payment in order to qualify. His proposal was rejected 57-42
    on a party-line vote because, as Senator Chris Dodd (D-Conn)explained, "passage of such a requirement would restrict home
    ownership to only those who can afford it."


    I can't add anything to this absolute show of genius.

    Are you kidding me? Has your quality of life not improved? Is the environment not better off? Are the bankers and Wall Street fellas not reigned in? Is the market not up? Have your taxes not gone down? Is the border not secured? Do we not have a coherant energy policy? Is the dollar not stronger? Are we not more respected in the world? Isn't Gitmo closed? Aren't the wars being managed beautifully? Is there not harmony accross the land?
