We put rebar in stumps because RB is shallow lake. When you are running, it is best to stay within the channel markers. We try to mark the stumps when the water "is down" so we don't run over them when they raise the water level. It seems to me that they do it bass ackards. The water level should be down in the summer when there is so much boat traffic so the rich kids and their big yatchets won't hit anything and raise the water in the winter when you have less boat traffic. When I drive a piece of rebar I put a piece of pvc over it to keep from tearing up a boat.
