I am thinking about trying to fish arkabutla and would like to know if the ramps are friendly to launching by yourself. Do they have chunk rocks lined on both sides of the ramp?

Getting tired of the high water launching problems on lakeview and have never fished arkabutla.

Where do you park the boat while you park the truck?

They are rock lined on both sides, but the ramps are wide for the most part. I usually just pull up on the far edge of the ramp. Water is high enough at Hernando point to put the boat on the beach now though.

I park mine on one side of the ramp while I park the truck. Like Feelay said the ramps are wide so it shouldn't be a problem.

Do you guys have keel guards to keep from damaging the bottom of the boat?

I have tended to stick to lakeview when fishing by myself because of the sand/gravel bank to park the boat. Plus as small as lakeview is it was a good spot to get started and learn how to push jigs since there are no skiers or jet skis.

No need for a keel guard, I have a tin boat!

Ok, thanks. I just need to bite the bullet and go to arkabutla or sardis.
