If so, is there any marking on the unit to let you know it's an NVB?

Don't make me smack you Torch. The adults are talking.

NVB is the pre-loaded mapping. Navionics is the card you insert.

I'm thinking the 997 I just got may just have NVB since there was a seperate manual for cartography. Just no markings on the unit that I can tell for sure. If I had a boat, I'd hook it up and see, but I can't so I ain't.

Send it to me, I'll hook it up and let you know. I may have to keep it for a while to be sure though.

Time to visit your friendly boat mechanic. You know he's willing to take you fishing for a preview.

Brakes are supposed to be in today. New Hotfoot (thanks DonG) was installed yesterday. Seat bases are coming soon from Grizzly, which should be the very last piece of the puzzle I've been waiting on before I start to rigging. Now all I need is a couple of days off to actually do it.
