Wannabe the answer to the original question is. The separate Cartography book ships with every unit including the ones without Nav Bundle. The box on the ones with the bundle are clearly marked NAV.
So you didn't get lucky and get the Nav model by accident.

NVB is the pre-loaded mapping. Navionics is the card you insert.

I'm thinking the 997 I just got may just have NVB since there was a seperate manual for cartography. Just no markings on the unit that I can tell for sure. If I had a boat, I'd hook it up and see, but I can't so I ain't.

You gewb. You don't needs no boat to try it. Use your handy dandy 12vdc power supply and hook it up in the house. You can lay it in your lap and play with it all night long. Why you can even hook your gps puck to it and figure out where your recliner is. That way when you ain't catchin any fish it I'll lead you back home. And that's the way mine was. No markings on the unit, just a cart manual. Kinda useless.

Won't work Minner. Don't have batter clips long enough to run out the house to the truck.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Durn, I was pretty sure one of the guys would take some of those sentences out of context and run with it. Seems such a shame to waste all that potential. And I've declared myself as behaving until my order from Sat arrives. Hurry, Sat, I'm not sure I can hold out that long!!!!!

Look on the unit for the model and serial number tag. The model number will end with NVB.

Picture this: I'm sitting on the couch fiddling with my fish finder and Is is sitting next to me. I'm not talking cause I'm fondling and she's not talking cause I'm not paying her any attention. So, she starts glancing around the room and thinks to herself: Hmm, that fixuture sure does need dusting and look at that dust bunny under the couch, I wonder what the TV would look like over there and you know I've been wanting new windows installed, which would mean we'd have to repaint the living room, but if I'm going to go to all that trouble I sure would like to put french doors to the outside from the dining room, but then I'd want a patio and I'd have to have a covered patio because of the sun and I'm sure I could get Wannabe to do some landscaping so it'd be nice and pretty.

There. Now you know why I don't have a power supply I can run inside the house. It's a matter of self preservation.

Oh I got one of those Taco. Only Is calls it the dungeon and she only puts me in there when supper is late. No lights and it's a bit damp to bring my electronics in there even if she would let me though.
