Getting same rig with 4 stroke 60. Was gonna get one 2day that I looked at friday but they sold it . They sell that boat as soon as they get em. best looking boat by far I have looked for. The front deck is HUGE. Wanna see if we can get a deal on 2??? Not saying they will but maybe. PM me. If not I will be ordering mine next week. You gonna put 997 on console??? I would love to have one up front for summer lake beds etc but I can't justify 2.

Why not just buy one and get an extra ducer for the front, best of both worlds. If you use a ram mount and get an extra base it's easy to move the sonar back and forth also. If you run your power through a cigarette outlet you can even use it in multiple boats.
It's all over but the fryin'......

not as easy wide the 997 or 1197 because of the way they connect.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.

a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

It works better if you go without that wire harness that comes with it, at least if you're moving it around - with the harness you have to remove all of the plugs and rethread everything each time you move it.

Here's a link with some front mount ducer options:

I wrestled with that idea for weeks. I put the 797 on my console in the same spot as the G-3 "cheapo" unit with that transducer in the rear. I have my Humminbird color depthfinder (A simple 200 buck unit, but a good one) one my trolling motor with a trolling motor transducer. That way I can drive and see my GPS and my sideimaging while i am moving at up to 4 mph. Then when I am fishing I just turn my unit around counterclockwise and I can see both units then. Works for me.The 997 in my opinion is overkill for a small G-3.Just remember to only turn your unit in one direction so as not to twist your cables and make sure it is mounted so you can see it from your fishing seat.
