Default The thing I like most about being a Dad

is the good stories you get. Duckkiller's reply below reminded me I forgot to tell the story about going and getting his camper.

So, we load the whole fambly and light out for Louiseville. Roll up to DK's Dads and commence to piling out of the truck and checking things out like we own the joint. The boys are hooping and hollering and climbing all in and out and DK's Dad and I are off to the side talking about things. That's when I get this tug on my belt loop. It's Gottabe. "I gotta go." "Now".

OK, so checking around the yard, I don't see anywhere he can slip off unnoticed, so I ask if he wouldn't mind if he goes in the house for "bidness". "Of course not, he says". I knew he'd regret that. So back to the house we all go. And wouldn't you just know it, by power of suggestion, Gonnabe is all in now, too. So Is and I are outside, and they come back out of the house. I didn't hear any screams from DK's Mom, so I figured we're all in the clear. Pass a little cash, pack the camper down, hitch up and we're off to Walmart to get a drop hitch. Mine has a rise of 2" and that camper needs about a 4" drop. Needless to say, I was puckering a bit in the low spots in the road.

So, we come out of Wal-Mart and I'm unhitching, installing the receiver and re-hitching when it hits me. "Say, did ya'll happen to remember to flush?".

    Gonnabe - Ummmm.

    Gottabe - I can't remember for sure.

We skipped lunch and I kept an eye in my rear view mirror. Pretty sure I made a clean get away though.

WB is so tight on money he don't let his kids flush at home so they have to be reminded when they are out somewhere.

If it's yellow leave it mellow, if it's brown flush it down.

See, I was pretty sure this was leading up to raiding the kids xmas money or birthday cash to help pay for the camper or the new drop hitch.

I guess Wannabe hasn't mastered that part of "I'll just put this away for you for a rainy day".

Light weight. Oh..... and did we ever get the tail end of the tale straight? I mean ... Did they or didn't they?
