Default MS OT Pay it Forward

I've seen several of these type threads on other boards and really never paid attention to how they set them up or handled it, but I think it's high time we did our own. I figure all of us have some stuff sitting in the shop/garage we could do without, so if ya'll are interested, I'll start it off.

Here's the way I think it ought to work:

    1) Open to anyone that wants to post here, not just MS folk or even regulars for that matter.

    2) To claim the item that's being given away, you must post what you have available to give away and be willing to pay for shipping on to the next person.

    3) The person with the item that is being claimed will decide if what you're offering is acceptable or not - no one else.

So, for example. I have some gauges I don't need and really aren't worth the effort to sell, but somebody out there would like to have them. So, I post them, say DD want's them. He posts that he'd like to have them and has a used BnM pole that he doesn't want anymore. I accept the "trade", ship my item to DD and DD posts that he has the BnM pole available for the next guy. Now the catch is, My item would cost like $3 to ship, while his would cost like $12 or $15, but that's up to DD. He's getting $30 or so in guages for the cost of the rod shipping, so that's a good deal for him.

So, anybody think this is a good idea?

Why not just post on the main board on the Classified Ad/Swap forum that you have a item for trade and go from there? Or for that matter you could post it here on MS. Off Topic as well.

Ya'll shuddup and tell me it's a good idea so I can get this thing going.

G-3, I'd rather keep it MS Other Topics based if that's OK. Not that I want to exclude non-MS folk. It ain't their fault we was borned lucky. I'd just rather get the ball rolling and be able to watch it bounce.
