maj if u are paying cash you can get a lot more boat used for a lot less than a new one with less stuff. IMO. How much are you looking to spend. Do you want alum only for some reason? RB can be brutal on alum and that comes from experience. How about fiberglass? What size motor and how many feet and WB can find it for you. That Stratos my buddy just sold for $5,500 would have been an AWESOME crappie boat!!!
These guys are right on the money on the "used" thought....I am currently upside down, the economy has the book values of the boats very "down" so, I would certainly persue a "used" price over a "new" price.......
will try to make the Enid Camp....have to work on the Saturday so will try to fish on the Sunday weather permitting..........can make after about noon on Saturday........
what's crazy is there are so many boats out there that are hardly used. The newer older boats are usually gonna have someone that is upside down on it like mentioned above and they have to ask a GIANT amount to pay it off and not lose money. You can find a ten year old boat that is in super shape the key is if it was kept under so form of cover, fuel stablizer used and motor starts up and runs good and galv trailer so age is a moot point. MAj didn't u just buy the boat you have? Make the next one the last one. GO BIG! GO USED and GO FOR IT!!!
Sac, you've made good points, especially about fiberglass, however, I have only 20' total in my garage for the door to close and no yard to put up a shed or anything like that so that makes the 175 with the swing-away tongue look like a good fit.
