If I understand this correctly, the site was/is a government run/controlled site. What else did you gewgers expect!!!!
Anything that seems to be workin that they can't tax you on, they over-regulate it out of existence. As my 10 year old granddaughter would say - "Duh".

Yes Sir, Mr. WB, Sir. (I think I just got my peepee spanked)....but it didn't change my opnion of government overgrgulating everything from your rights to fish a public stream to, well................just about everythig else.

What exactly was the problem that it was so bad that they had to close all the forums? I felt i got a lot of useful info off the board, and i loved hearing about other people's experiences fishing--especially, that it was from local people. Man, although i never have had the chance, i loved reading about, for instance, folks catching (real) stripers down at Ross Barnett. With that said, whatever happened to the wipers (hybrid bass) that used to be in Sardis (i saw the state record came out of there)?
thought it was a good thing. never thought anyone was way out of line . guess the folks had very thin skin .
Even Jesus had a fish story ! Actually five .
These guys are trying to recreate the site...

I didn't read the site, but if these guys can resurect it, I'd donate a little just to put it back in their face.
I have asked some of the game wardens about the hybrids that were stocked in Sardis, I think they were also stocked at Enid or maybe even all of the Big 4 Reservoirs up here, they said that first off hybrids are generally sterile and since they weren't reproducing they all either got caught, floated down the spillway or died of natural causes eventually. As for not restocking them, I think they say that they are expensive(having to restock them on a yearly basis), harder to get them to survive(especially in the Summer, and that there is a lack of angler interest in catching them. I have to personally disagree with that, I for one would love the chance to catch some hybrid bass while I am in school up here at Ole Miss. I think there would be plenty of others that would like to target them as well, they can put up quite a fight and are very sporting. They should survive quite well in the reservoirs up here (at least Enid, Grenada and Sardis) because there is enough deep water for them to cool off in the hotter months. If they can thrive at Ross Barnett, the sea runs, then hybrids ought to be able to make it up here.
They claim budget cuts as the reason...
