Man the snow and my cast has me all down now hearing about the Capt makes it worse. I really like the show

I lived 2 years in dutch harbor alaska when I was 20. I use to love to watch them unload all the crab boats when they came in. Got spoiled eating king crab tho there is nothing better and the haibit fishing was killer!! We got lost at sea one time in the bearing sea in a 16ft boat fishing one day for 10 hours. It snowed so hard you could barely see the end of the boat. We got our barings with compass but it was broke! Thought I was gone forever did the mayday thing everything. The boat the northwestern on the show finally found us. You talk about happy to see that sucker.Man just about had frost bite and they asked if any of us need to get out of the boat so i did. Could barely climb up the ladder they dropped down cause couldnt feel my hands and feet. But they wrapped me up cooked me a pork chop and coffee untill you could see threw the snow to get back to the harbor. I hated to climb out of that boat back in the other.

Very sad indeed. Not suprised though. He had a rough season in 2008.

Who was the captain back then? One of the guys thats still doing it?

DD , the only way those guys change Capt's is if tha Capt dies.
