I have a HB 587ci up front, and a reg HB FF on console. Im thinking of getting a Ram Mount and mounting my Garmin handheld 76cx on the console as well.
My question is, can I send the waypoints from my hand help to my HB? Also I have mapsource software for my Garmin, can I some how hook up my HB to computer and get waypoints from there?

I plan on reading more in depth of my HB mannual tomorrow and seeing if I can rename waypoints in stead of having them listed as numbers.
If I could find a way to manually enter the Lat and Long then I could just get them off the handheld and enter them that way.

Killer, you might want to check the main forum under fishing electronics and trolling motors. I've been studying that thread for sonar fish finders.

Hey Duckkiller there are several ways to accomplish what you are looking to do. Here is what I have found works well for me.
Get the Ozi Explorer software for your computer. This is a mapping and waypoint management software that is fairly low cost.
Connect the Garmin 76 to the pc using the interface cable. Download the waypoints and name the file.
Now go to Humminbird register your unit and Download Humminbird PC.
Use Humminbird PC to upload the file you created in Ozi Explorer.
Same this file from Humminbird PC to A SD CARD.
Simply put the SD card in the 587 and the waypoints will update automatically.
Custom naming of the points is easy from either the Ozi or Humminbird software.
If this all sounds like Greek make a trip to Columbus and I will demonstrate it for you.
The downside to this method is if you have the same points on the HB 587 and the Garmin 76 it will duplicate those so you will have 2 points for that spot. Simple fix is delete one on the water when you are at the spot and see 2 points.
BTW.
You can enter the GPS points manually in the 587.
Go to waypoints submenu and select create press the right cursor key then simply enter the lat and long and name the point.
Yep. Ray may be ugly.........and a gewber.....but he's leading you down the right path...........it's just and ugly, gewber path.
