Default 3 Rivers Marine and the 997

Just got off the phone with 3 Rivers marine ordering my 997 along with a 1 1/2 inch Ram mount for the 520 and the 2 1/4 inch ram mount for the 997!!!!!!!! Not bad at all. the 2 1/4 inch ram mount is still on sale at 56.99, that's about 30 bucks cheaper than Cabelas!!!!! Talk about stoked, wahooooo

Glad you got your stuff ordered so I can see how it works. I've about pulled out all my white hair trying to figure this stuff out. Why did you pick HB and tritonman got Low? Those questions are driving me crazy.

Don did you check J&H? They are generally much cheaper than 3 rivers.

520 has been discontinued Maj. As for lowrance vs H'bird....well it comes down to personal preference divided by price x marital status. H'bird has great customer service and as of right now, questionable GPS function on the big SI units. Supposed fix is on the way, and might be out right now, but the jury is still out in my mind. Lowrance has great GPS and 2D, but to get structure scan and SI, it's a good bit more expensive. Then again, their customer service is probably the worst of any company in history and their units have a propensity to get water intrustion due to bad batches of seals - supposedly currently addressed.

Ya pays your money, ya takes your chances.

Who answered these types of questions while I was gone BTW?

Default GOD, I can't believe I'm saying this BUTTTTTT

I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WANNABE POSTED. I did look around about anywhere but at 1,499 for the 997 plus 2 RAM mounts, the total wasn't but $1,629.39, that included S & H as well so that's darn hard to beat. Heck, I saved 30 bucks just on the big Ram mount alone. BTW Wannabe, we had a team effort on answering these questions in your leave. Worked purty good to

so far the water in the unit issue seems to be resolved. I have not had problems with that. And Maj one of the main reasons I went with lowrance was installation, I was able to use some of the 522 stuff and not have to wire up everything
