Default The joys of hunting with kids

Nice and balmy this weekend wasn't it.

Well, Gottabe and me hit the stand before daylight. Had a nice 13" 6 point come out and he missed him clean at 60 yards. DRATS!!!!

Went back in the PM with Gonnabe and had a 14" 8 pt come out in a trot at 7 yards trailing a doe, turn up the pipeline and make it 80 yards down before he could get his gun on him. The deer paused for 1 second, the poof he was gone. DOUBLE DRATS!!!!

But wait, there's more. 20 minutes later, I hear a crash behind me, couldn't see him though. Then a walking deer in the leaves - CLOSE. Still can't see him. Finally, I raise up and the same 8 pt is 3 yards from the base of the stand. Hand the gun over and Gonnabe's boot brushed the stand and poof, he was gone again. TRIPPLE DRATS WITH CRAP ON TOP!!!!

No wonder I don't like hunting any more.

A lot like the old Wannabe... except with fewer bad words. And Karate chop action. But, yes, still purtier than you.

Gonnabe is starting to realize they are a lot harder to shoot when they got them horns on their heads:D

You're right Maj. His chair was a lot higher than mine and he saw the deer first both times. If I let him hold the gun the whole time, he'd have had a better shot than the way I went about it.

my boy saw 4 this morning and I saw ZERO! he saw two illegal bucks and two does one of which tipped the scales at 125, I know how much she weighed cause we came home a cleaned her. WB I thinks we need to let the younguns do all the huntin!

Default Why don't you 2 goofballs

just go drop the kids off at their stands and then go fishing? just tell them to wait til you get back to dress the deer, simple solution

Don't know about Triton, but if I did that, I'd have a baker's dozen to clean when I picked 'em up. Guess I could limit their ammo, but those little hoodlums of mine would prolly sneak some contraband rounds on me.
