The wind wasn't much of a problem where I was. the main lake was beating the band though with small white caps. The trouble was that with that much wind on the lake moving that much water at a right angle to me, the wave action was pushing fair sized rollers in on me. Not bad enough to keep me or you from fishing, but I worried all the movement would wear my Dad out.
So, after the first fish so quick, I was pretty excited thinking my master plan of starting 3/4 of a mile above my spot would pay off. I was thinking that my fish weren't relating to anything in particular, but were roaming and I'd pick up more by expanding my water. Turns out I was dead wrong and wasted a lot of time fishing slack water. Ended up that 80% of the fish and bites we got were withing 50 yard circle of where I'd caught 'em last Sunday.
Here's my Dad's best on the day and my best from the PM as well.
My Dad was able to stay until 1 and I don't mind admitting I didn't put a Crappie in the boat the entire time. I lost a good one and missed a few, but my Dad boated all 4 keepers. Needless to say, it was pretty dang slow, but he managed to amuse himself by giving me the full Be smack talk treatment all AM. LOL.
Dangdest thing though. Same colors, same depth and his 3 poles amounted to 90% of all the bites we got. It's just weird like that sometimes. But honestly, I'd pay good money if I could plan it like that. He was grinning and having a good time putting a whoopin on me like that.
Wannabe...
