Default Any hockey fans out there?

I'm probably the most devoted hockey fan in the state of Louisiana and am just amazed at the turns that have taken place so far since the lockout. Besides all the players seeing a more even playing field and deciding to move to the team of their choice through free agency (instead of just where the money was), we've also seen the NHL loose some great names in just the last week. Scott Stevens, Al Macinnis, Vincent Dampouuse, and several others have all decided to retire this week. With the rule changes, mixed up lines, and rookies starting out, this is going to be hard to pick a champ early. I decided that since this is an off topic forum, I thought we might discuss something more interesting (at least to me!) than politics, finger pointing, and name calling. Oh well, Have fun and post often.

God I love me some hockey. I am a huge Predators fan. I have tix to the preseason game the night before the Teezur Tourney. Me and my girlfriend only bought an 11 game package but our friends that we sit with bought the half season and I'll go when his wife don't. And my girlfriend gets any upper level bowl tix for weekday games for $10 and a food and drink voucher through a deal the Preds have with Middle TN State Univ.

I think the missing season only got me more excited. What about us getting Kariya? He's healthy, fast and ready to go just like the rest of the team. We got a lot of speed and young players. The Cup's comin' to Tennessee, Tie down granny so she don't confuse it for a spittoon.

There's been so many personnel changes throughout the league that its going to be hard to tell who'll be good but I know it'll be fun.

I know hockey beats politics any day and if ya'll want to talk it, I'll be done talkin' politics.

    Default It's all good!

I've been a hockey fan for about 16 years, but Louisiana isn't exactly a hockey state. The first 2 games I got to see were in NC where I was working when the Canes hosted the Devils in the playoffs in 2002. Got to see some legends play and it was awesome. Scott Stevens, Martin Brodeur, Patrick Elias, RON FRANCIS, and Rod Brindamor all made them very exciting games for me, escpecialy since both games went into overtime. I was able to watch 2 more games while I was up there and came back and convienced the wife and kids to go with me to Dallas (which is my team and I'm sorry to bust your bubble FIDDLEFARTER, is going to bring back the cup! :D :p ). Now they are hooked and look forward to our 2 or 3 trips a year over there to watch them play in Dallas(we'd go more, but it's a 5 hour drive and cost alot). It's good to see that I'm not the only fishing hockey fan. Thanks for getting me back excited about it by talking to fellow fans :D . Hope the best for all your teams and YOU!!!

I been hoping someone on here shared my enjoyment of hockey.

I can't wait for someone to get rough on Kariya or Sullivan and then get their a$$ whipped by Hordichuk. That will be fun. I tell you its just exciting having a big time player here, Kariya.

I saw The Great One play his last year and I am thankful I got to see that.

There's nothing in the world of sports like play-off hockey. I been to Titans playoff games and although they were exciting, they just were'nt the same.

    Default Almost gone

I can't stay but a moment cause I got to go catch some crappie this morning-I hope. Its great to go and watch your favorite team and know that there's a player or some players that are capible of stepping up and making the difference in the game. I think this is going to be good for Kariya and the Preds, cause at Colorado I don't know if he was overshadowed by ALL the talent or just didn't fit there, but it just didn't happen for him there like at Anahiem. Ya'll also have Zidlicky, Allison, Timonen, and Markov who all can hold down the fort and still make offensive plays. Dallas has that with Mike Modano, Bill Guerin, and Jason Arnott. They're fun to watch, especially when you have a good goaltender, incase they get out pocket. Well it'll be daylight in about an hour, with 60 miles to go. Later.
