My thoughts exactly DBD. Libs will never make sense. It appears he expects the Government to take care of those people.

FYI to all liberal thinking, Bush bashing folks, it is NOT the Governments job to take care of ANYONE. Try reading the Constitution and you should be able to figure out what the Governments responsibility is. Teachers? Try teaching to constitution instead of sex ed. Try simple business and proper economics so when a student is in the real world, they might have a chance to understand that paying for food, rent and utilities is a little more important than keeping the cell phone up, buying the latest xbox game, and keeping a stash of dope and booze around. Teachers have dropped the ball as bad as any trade out there. Journalists are just as bad. Seems the Libs can gripe about a business who provides thousands of jobs, but are too caught up in their own lives to be able to admit the problems with society reach from top to bottom.

Has anyone heard one Liberal blame the actual cause of the Mortgae debacle?
Didn't think so. Those who expect our Government to take care of them should move to another Country. That was not the purpose of starting this Country in the first place.

The people have voted for Obama. Perhaps he can actually do something good for the Country. Not that he has done anything while holding public office as of yet other than run for another one. I feel the only reason he has the past associations he has was mearly to gain support from the Black Community in S. Chicago to win the State Senate in Ill. He was then able to ride that same wave of popularity into the US Senate seat. The mans done nothing but talk good. It's time to see if he has any merit.

    Well said crappie reaper!

Here's somethin for those who may not understand the Bill of Rights.
it's called the Bill of Non Rights.

'We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish somecommon sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights.'

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful; do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes .

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care..

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job.. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful. (AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (Lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!!!! GET OVER IT!!!

after eight years of failed economic and domestic and international policies, the american people have had enough and voted for change. give the guy a chance. there is nothing to be bitter about. if obama fails after an acceptable period of time, then complain. this country could not have stood another four years of the bush doctrine.

think of it this way, i heard today that palin thought africa was a nation, not a continent and she did not know the member countries of nafta (duh) so in the even that mccain been elected and died suddenly, palin would have had to step down because of incompetency and nancy (ugh) pelosi would have had to step in. big trouble then. they way i see it, the democrats saved the republican party.

I'm an educator and I'm not failing or so the yearly data tells me. Can I do better, absolutely! I also teach in a public education system that is made up of students "that need it the most". They all need it. For many of my students, poverty is so bad that you and I can't even understand it until we see it with our own two eyes. I see it when I take students home after practice because they have no way home. It is a friendly reminder to me what my students deal with everyday and the baggage they walk in the door with.

ALL schools aren't failing and even in the one's that are, you have "some" people that are genuinely doing a great job. Are there some things that need to be fixed...YEAH.

This situation is so complex that I am not going to delve into it here because I don't want to highjack this thread.

And by the way, the lady in the video probably wasn't saying that she would be able to kick back grab the remote and watch tv for the rest of her life while a check from BHO was placed in her mailbox every month. I believe she was trying to imply that the ecnomic pressure that everyone, especially the poor are feeling, would be dealt with.

It remains to be seen if that will be the case.

By the way I didn't vote for BHO but he is the Pres. elect and I pray that he will be able to lead this country through the difficult times ahead. I wish him only the best in an uphill struggle.

That's a good one Crappie Reaper...blame ALL the teachers. You can pm me anytime and I will happily get you a pass to come spend a week with me on your vacation or if you're retired, better yet. I "GURANTEE" you by the end of the week you will be singing a different tune.

The real world? I am afraid you don't understand the REAL WORLD but I would very much like to introduce you to it.

All you know is what you remember sitting behind that little desk when you were in school. Things are all together different now.

Seriously, come on down and let me show you around.

By the way I don't teach sex ed.

    Rapman 1,

Interesting perspective you have. My perspective is completely different. But that's part of why this country is so appealing (even still) to the rest of the world. We have these great freedoms here. Funny how things have been so terrible the last 8 years and yet America still seems to be the number 1 choice for immigrates to start a new life. Yeah it's been a really bad 8 years. Times were tuff huh? I bet you made more money this last 8 years than any time in your life. Just a guess...Am I right? I see a President who has kept this great nation safe from attacks on our own soil for the last 8 years while being constantly attacked by the left wing liberals and the media (again left wing liberals) and sadly abandoned by his own party and still stick to what he believed to be the correct path regardless of how his popularity may suffer. I see that as a very admirable quality. You spoke of the failed economic policies. You may want to do some research to find out exactly who is to blame. Google Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac. You may not like what you find out.

I wish the best for our new President. I pray he leads this country with his heart in it. I just wish he would put his hand over it when the National Anthem is being played though. That gesture would show some respect for this nation's heritage and those before us who died preserving it and all of our freedoms.

SlippedCork...it's really not the public's fault that they feel that way. They have no idea how much most school systems have been handcuffed by the State and FED's.

In this day and age, teacher's are expected to make sure that there is 100% attendance at school. Teachers are also expected to make sure that student's that come to school with improper clothes get them and if they are hungry feed them. THEN at 8 PM start teaching. If a student is reading on a 2.8 reading level, that is no big deal, you should be able to teach them what the word CNIDARIAN means in the 6th grade.

    That's just a start.

Saying all that, I am confident in my abilities to teach and I accept all impossible challenges and expectations that the uneducated put in my way. I will take your child into my room and give them the best possible care and education that I can.
