Man, I had a crush on Patty when I was twenty something. I was on the road a lot during that time, and had a cassette player in my truck. Wore out a few of hers.

I've been chain watching Suzy Bogguss videos this evening. Got a bunch of her music in my collection. Another favorite country gal is Patty Loveless; her music takes up a big space on my Ipod as well.

Yeah, the Simon & Garfunkel version was a favorite of mine when it came out. I do play "Down with the sickness" on occasion, when I'm feeling a little rowdy... and have played their version of "The Sound of Silence" as well as hearing it on the radio (back when they first introduced it). I liked it OK, but I'm just not a real "big fan" of bands covering oldie hits. Sort of the same deal when listening to live concerts & the band plays the songs up tempo a little. Yeah, I know that's a little "petty", but after having listened to their song(s) a hundred times & memorized the lyrics ... it's just a little annoying (to me) when it appears they're trying to cram as many songs in their stage time as possible. I'd rather hear one less song in the set, if all the others are done in the same tempo as the recording.
