There was a time or two over the decades where I really enjoyed listening to bands that played instrumentals ... no lyrics, just music.
Bands/songs like :
The Ventures ... (several different ones)
The Shadows .... Apache
Booker T & the MG's ... Green Onions
The Surfaris ... Wipe Out
The Edgar Winter Group ... Frankenstein
Floyd Cramer ... Last Date (also my Mom's favorite all time song)
And even some of the Electronic Music bands & New Age Bands, like Tangerine Dream, Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, & Enigma.
So, I'm really not what you'd simply call a "metalhead", but more of a "Eclectic" when it comes to my music tastes.
The Ventures; who needs lyrics? Great recordings from their Japan trips in the mid 60's, including Wipe Out.

Anyone listen to Iron Maiden? I was heavy into them in the late 80s.
Rush is another of my all time favorite bands.
