If you cut a persimmon seed in half the white center will be in the shape of a knife, fork, or spoon. If a fork it means a mild winter with plenty to eat. A knife means bitter winds that cut thru you. A spoon means you’ll be shoveling snow. I’ve cut several this year and the were all spoons. And each year they will usually all be the same shape.

If we go by the almanac I am in the cold and snowy area. Been a strange year this year. No walnuts, mulberries, no catalpa worms.
