I need to run a 3 phase table saw but I don't have 3 phase. What's the best and most cost effective way to use a converter? Rotary, solid state, or static. I'm looking at the last one. They are much cheaper but do they work well.

If you have an extra 3 ph motor laying around you could make your own rotory converter... but now a VFD is the way to go you can buy a cheap 3 phase VFD power it from 230 single phase and it will out put 230 3 phase, you probably won't need or use the speed control of the vfd on a table saw, but it's a cheap easy way to make 3 phase.
