I also feel the same as everyone above. Sorry to hear of your loss. If it was an average dog this post wouldn't be here. I have put down a few and have some closing in on their day and I hate the thought. God Bless you brother and help you through this tough time. I hope you find another soon.

Thanks for all of the kind replies. Jack was a great dog. I had him for 9 short years. He had more personality than he knew what to do with and was a true companion, going everywhere with me, either in the truck or in the boat. He was with me everywhere I'd go. He got a degenerative spinal cord disease that was causing him to lose the use of his back legs and he couldn't get up in the truck anymore or go for our daily hikes. I found a vet that came to the house to euthanize him. It was better than going to the vet's office for all of us. He went peacefully on his bed in my arms. I had to go somewhere in the truck today and that front passenger seat sure was empty.

Sorry for your loss; been through it a few times 3 in a little over a year, never gets easy nor should it. I have the collar of my last buddy hanging from my rear view mirror in my truck. And quite often find myself going through pics of the memories... those are some really nice memories you've got posted up here, glad that you have those, I would imagine that you will find yourself coming back here for years to come checking out those pics, and that's a good thing. And thanks for sharing a little of him with the rest of us.
