I grew up in the country, I mean real rural country. After I married and had kids we lived in suburbs until we moved back to SC in '79. We bought a house about 5 miles out of town on a couple of acres with few neighbors. Sold that when I retired in 2002 and then built a house right in town. Miss the room sometime but it is nice having things a block or two away instead of having to drive 5 miles to get to anything.
Would not trade our time out there for anything though. The boys grew up fishing in ponds, shooting BB guns and fireworks in the yard and riding dirt bikes places I probably don't won't to know about.

Its most likely best you don't know. As I am sure most of you and I know I have heard people tell their kids about stuff they did growing up. I would never tell my kids anything I did growing up. Most of it could or would get them hurt or killed. All of US were probably lucky in a lot of ways.

Actually I do walk, it is only a few minutes and I justify eating it by walking. (probably not a valid assumption) It is half price on Sunday's nights. My grandkids were visiting a couple of weeks ago and we walked up and my grandson (16) asked if he could go next door and get a hamburger instead of ice cream. This was after dinner! Of course, Pop never says no.
