Good one!
I got to watch a duck banding session several years ago with a certain government agency. We were in the blind, waiting to fire the rockets for the net, and the crows kept coming in to the bait and running the teal and wood ducks away. Finally the guys decided there was the maximum number of ducks and they fired the net, trapping not only ducks but also several crows. We rushed to the net and I was filming when I heard some of the guys saying OOPS!! With each OOPS! came a corresponding CRUNCH!! I looked over to see the guys walking across the top of the net and ( accidentally I'm sure) each step happened to be on a crow. Funny, no ducks were harmed and no crows escaped. I thought it was a strange way of keeping one's boots off the muddy ground. Seems to have worked rather well but I didn't get any of it on film. Darn my luck!!
