Is she a biter and does she require a special diet?

Neither, She will grab your finger,but wont put any pressure. She likes sausage and eggs or biscuits and gravy. Or pretty much anything you give her.

I have a small dog the same way when it comes to food. I like the bird.

I have owned 2 parrots...an Amazon double yellow head and an African Gray. They really required a lot of attention. They could scream and yell loud enough to drive me crazy. Plus they live for 60 years or so. They were kind of fun, but I eventually got rid of them. Don't know anything about an ecclectus and their behaviors, but I'd recommend sticking with a good dog.
