Boarbuster it is a pet bird. Not many people have heard of it because it is not as common as some of your other parrots. You can look up Riley the talking eclectus on youtube.

I've had parrots. We had a big Cockatoo when we still childless. Any parrot is a good bird and it's a matter of preference. Stay away from conures - mouthy little b@stards.

I have owned 2 parrots...an Amazon double yellow head and an African Gray. They really required a lot of attention. They could scream and yell loud enough to drive me crazy. Plus they live for 60 years or so. They were kind of fun, but I eventually got rid of them. Don't know anything about an ecclectus and their behaviors, but I'd recommend sticking with a good dog.

we had a parakeet once. got it when it was young and I taught that sucker to talk. every time I'd walk by his cage I'd say the same thing. wasn't long he was saying it. some of the things weren't too nice. his name was Charlie and he had a mirror in the cage and was always looking at himself. I'd walk by and say, "Charlie is a pretty boy." wasn't long he was saying that.
