I go to Kroger's and just get a flu shot. I haven't been sick in years.

Poxy .... I'm still using Avast (free version), and it just updated to the 2014 version. I also run Malwarebytes (free version) and SuperAntiSpyware (free version). I'm still running Vista as my OS, and it has a firewall built in.

If anyone wants to know what the most used "free" versions of software programs are, they need look no further than here : Windows PC software downloads and reviews from CNET Download.com ... and as you can see, Avast is sitting in the top spot.

I switched from AVG back in 2007, because I was having some issues with its updating. Avast was my next best "free" option, at that time, and I've been very happy with it since installing it. It automatically updates itself (even on the free version) ... and manual updates on my Malwarebytes & SuperAntiSpyware are done in a matter of 1-2 mins/each.

The only time Avast has failed to stop a virus, was when we had one infiltrate this site ... and even Ed had problems with getting it removed. The end result was having to install the "trial" version of Kaspersky ... run it to remove the problem ... then, when the trial period was over, revert back to Avast. Avast did block it from infecting my computer, and would throw up warnings every time I accessed the infected post. It just would not "remove" the virus from the connection, and so Kaspersky was used to clear things up.

Is what I use "the best" for everyone ?? I doubt it, but it has worked for me over the last 6yrs. Even the pay version of Avast's "premier" package is cheaper than the Norton's Antivirus package, by almost $20/year.

AVG has a free anti-virus as well as one you pay for.
