The criminals go for the unarmed citizen..I will use my gun to help protect someone that belives in the second amendment,,,The ones that feel that I don't have the right to have a gun ...well,,good luck ,,those are the ones the criminals are stalking,,,and criminals don't always use guns but its my choice to have one,,its not the gun that creates a criminal,,Some have mental problems and need and should get all the help they can get,,some are just low down sneaking lowlife cowards that will not get anything honest,In many rural areas it may take the police longer to get to a crime scene that in bigger cities,,criminals are in rural areas as well as cities, maybe more so,so I want to be able to protect myself,my property and my family untill the [police can arrive and take over,If you don't think as I do,thats your right ,,guns don't create criminals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!but they protect those that believe in protecting themselves and their families

The violence in Chicago is heavily dependent on which neighborhood you are in. The ones with the most guns are also the most violent and skew the stats for the rest of the city.

Same for Detroit and that is readily available for a very little research. I know about Chicapgo from friends and relatives who were able to get out of those "old neighborhoods", but that is a fight in and of itself, and also from friends from elsewhere in the Chicago metro.

Actually criminals are stalking each other first and foremost, and I wouldn't really mind except their "business" keeps illegal gun channels open and lucrative and bystanders are often collateral damage, especially the kids who just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The basic fact is that most of gun crime victims know those who shoot them and very often are as likely as their attackers to have a gun, in their possession if not on their person, both generally hand guns.

Then you agree that gun control is counterproductive.

I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

The hat is inedible. Besides it is an old friend of something like 15 years, else I would bring it down to you personally and watch you choke on it.

Thanks for the read both the article and the publication it was based on, one that holds up both Finland and Norway as examples. Both countries require a permit to purchase any gun based on a provided valid reason and an extensive background check, plus both have very strict regulations on public use and on home storage. Self protection is not a valid purpose in Finland and almost never accepted as one in Norway, and each gun must be individually registered as well. I have no problem with either of those systems.

Too bad both main examples are heavily regulated and therefore are actual examples of effectively functioning gun control.

When it comes to Russia, the period covered includes all the chaos of the dissolution and resulting unrest following the breakup of the Soviet Union, the lawlessness and the rise of the Russian mafia and the establishement of the Putin tyranny. Not a very good comparison to use for anything.
