I did fuel up with gas this morning, and before I stopped my truck, a man of color had already come to the pump removed the nozzle waiting on me to get out. I politely ask him to put the nozzle back into the holder, and please step away from my area, I don't need any help. He was cold and I was cold, I went in a bought a cup of coffee and asked the cashier if she knew this guy was doing this, she acknowledged, I gave her a dollar to give to the guy. One never knows when crap like this can go south

I agree anything can happen at anytime but if that particular individual has wished to do you harm it is doubtful you would have had time to stop him from doing so... Staying in self defense mode all the time is next to impossible to do and also go about our everyday living... I have not in my 67 years of living seen a need to have a firearm available to me for self protection.

Yes and I know sometimes bad things happen but I believe being paranoid about self protection would be very stressful.... I don't walk through dark alleys in the middle of the night but other than that I am never concerned about somebody attempting to do me harm.

Well, I'll hope for your and your family's sake, the day never comes you regret your stance. I don't have an issue with your choice, so how about extending the same respect to others? I mean as far as I'm concerned, it's YOUR Right to protect (or not) yourself and family however YOU see fit. You're no more or no less than anyone else in this country, so don't think you are in that you can decide what THEY can and cannot do to protect theirs..

ETA: It always happens to the other guy...............

I had my hand on my gun, though the gun was in its holster and was never drawn.
