    Question Cell phone with camera

We have US Cellular service. I am looking at replacing my present(old) LG flip phone with a phone that has a good camera.

I will use the phone for conversation & pictures only. No surfing, no text,no music downloads, etc.

What would you recommend? I would like to have at least 5mp.

I really like my I-phone 4s...don't know if that is an option for you. A lot of people like the Androids also

Just bought Hannah one. She has everything that starts with I-. I don't know the difference between Apples & Oranges so I guess I will stick with the old type.

You really can't go wrong with any camera phone with 8 or more megapixels, but even 5 is good for most people. My opinion is go with a smartphone, there is just so much you can do with them now-a-days. The ability to have a radar, camera, flashlight, journal and endless other items in one device is great. But, of course most of the time they do come with the additional fee, so I understand they aren't good for everyone.

I have the iPhone 4S and it does have a great camera, but the Galaxy and Infuse made by Samsung took better pictures in low light conditions. I can't remember the name of the Nokia phone I had, but it had the brightest flash. I could take pictures in total darkness and you couldn't tell whether it was daylight or dark, without looking at the surroundings. I will never purchase another Samsung phone though, there customer service is the worse I have ever seen.

I think most of the I phones and the high end Samsungs require having a data plan which I would not use. I need quick access to a camera when taking fish pictures and I think a phone would be quicker access than looking for my camera.

Good luck there, I know it is getting harder and harder to find phones that are great and don't require a data plan. I hate it when my father-in-law breaks his phone because it takes us forever to find him another one. He is with ATT though.

Hey, Don. My son works at US Cellular. I'll have him call you.
