Take it a few steps further and test them before they get a driver's liscense, everytrip to the ER, car insurance, ETC

Perhaps "piss testing " on a RANDOM basis would be the way to go. Same in the military. About every 24 months or so, sometimes sooner, sometimes a little later. But completely, NO NOTICE, "out of the blue"...and why (DELETED ) YES!!! ESPECIALLY politicans ! If you hold a PUBLIC OFFICE you are IMPLYING some "morale superiority." SO SHUT UP and FILL the cup to the line indicated..."

Not that I want to do drugs but I always felt that those individuals that get the check should pass a random drug test to stay in the game. With my old job of 28 yrs I worked very hard to earn a check and was randomly tested and was contributing to society in a positive manner paying my dues. But then again I feel that those running the show need to be tested more so........

Same here. Considering how much garbage comes out of so many politicians' mouths, regardless of what side they are on, drug testing should be a mandatory part of just filing for office.
