From Crappie 1: Well, I'm sure you know more about it than anyone. But just seems when you take the cap off anything it can go as high as it wants. Just saying. No I have no idea what the cap should be, but when it was removed, ah well, that's why I never go here.
Crappie, if you don't come here how will these people learn the truth? How will they get the facts? How will they grow in knowledge? How will they become more tolerant of differing opinions? It's your obligation as a human being to give aide to your fellow man. Otherwise they are doomed to beating the same ole dead horse over and over and over.

Not sure what the significance is and exactly what your point is here. Are you denying that 'demand' is a factor in the definition and understanding of economic theory regarding gasoline prices or is it you don't like the way markets work and that you and Obama and Karl Marx know of something much better than the free market?

Are you denying that this inventory of refined product is now some how not the private property of the oil company after they have put forth their time energy, expertise and investment at finding extracting and refining it?

Are you implying like that Bill O'Reilly this oil is really the property of all of ours when the majority of us are absolutely clueless with no inkling as to the expense and expertise required in finding and processing and marketing the refined oil products?

Are you attempting to deny the oil companies their rights to use and dispose of their rightfully owned property in a manner that would result in maximizing the profits for them and their shareholders?

Are you like Hugo Chavez and Obama suggesting from your utopian and infinite omniscience do in fact know better at how and where the oil companies should dispose of their property? I think you'll find that Valenzuela's oil production hasn't shown any increases in efficiencies of production since they were nationalized.

Are you suggesting with this countries glut of gasoline that the oil companies should now reduce refinery outputs and let those expensive investments set idle and in all probabilities mean less people required in their operation? I'm just guessing here but I would think that those refineries are kept in much better condition and state if they are kept chugging along and not shut down and restarted but I'm sure the owners of the refineries know for sure on this.

As far as the refineries being the best and most efficient in the world I would suggest they are that away because of free markets profit motives and those greedy bastards being left free to maximize their own profits. It is those whom I place my best hope on at seeing gasoline available for purchase in the market place in the future and not on any utopian statist socialist liberal redistribution-est who think they are all knowing.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Finally a very small tidbit of one of your posts that I can agree with in your invite to Crappie 1 to enter this sandbox and have some fun. Just enter with a few caveats like don't enter with a thin skin and don't take it all that seriously and realize you won't be agreed with and you probably won't be changing anyone's opinion.

I like to think I have very valid and logical reasons for what I advocate. I find it enjoyable trying to lay out my reasons for the positions I hold and look forwards to any logical counter point shots that might tear apart my positions - I always consider myself open to being swayed by logically reasoned arguments. Now if I held those opinions based on whims and emotions and how good they make me feel I wouldn't be open to having my positions changed based on sound logic which is the exact opposite of some folks here. That being the case one wonders why they would choose to engage in debate here.

I know that this was directed at Crappie 1 but I'll still comment on it.

I refuse to accept as an obligation the giving of aid indiscriminately to any Tom Dick or Harry that has meandered through life mindlessly making stupid decisions refusing to accept any responsibility for his actions and where he finds himself. The imposition of obligations on others is a prominent and ever occurring thread running through most all lib positions where as my positions don't impose obligations on others. Fundamentally I don't want to deprive anyone else of their freedom and certainly don't want my freedoms subjugated by others with their loony positions.

Now as for the Beav he is beyond supporting on his political positions and Tom has it well characterized as to why he is not seeing any light.

The ol Beav has been playing in this sandbox for some time and I do get a certain amount of enjoyment from romping with him. I do somewhat admire that he continues stirring the pot here and do somewhat find myself in a slump in his absence from here. From all his postings I do consider him as a very good and reliable source on crappie fishing. He is someone I believe I could really enjoy a day on the water fishing with. I would enjoy picking his brain on crappie fishing. I don't think we would be bashing each other over the head with oars or anything else--anyhow it wouldn't be me starting it. If in fact we weren't catching any fish I might poke him in the ribs about his loony political positions but in reality with his fishing expertise we would probably be catching too many fish and not leaving enough time for prodding each other about our political positions.
