So did Patton, who wanted to convince the western Allies and Washington to attack and defeat the Soviet Union as soon as Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan had surrendered. He foresaw that the end of WW 2 would leave the Soviets and "communism' as the last and greatest threat to a geniune global "peace'. Because of his short lived campaign to find support for what amounted to WW 3, he was swiftly removed from any combat capable commands and was privately told from "the HIGHEST" level to "SHUT UP" or be formally be brought up on chages of insubordination and court marshalled...ironically, history proved Patton correct...
