I had forgotten about that book. I read it years ago and then saw the movie when it came out. It's been so long, I may have to read it again.

Not yet. It's on my "to read" list. I just finished "Next". I've got a few more after that one before I finish all of his books.

It's good, but I liked Foucault better. For a change of pace, here are some more favorites:

The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Silmarillon by JRR Tolkien - just plain awesome

Death in the Long Grass by Peter Hathaway Capstick - classic collection of stories about Africa's most dangerous big game animals

The Iliad by Homer - Greece vs. Troy and Achilles vs. Hector. More action than "Die Hard".

A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court - my favorite Mark Twain book

James Lee Burke. Pat Conroy, WEB Griffin, Clancy, Crais, Baldaci, Childs, Cusler, some nonfiction--working on Twains Autobiograpy now. Conroy and Burke are my favorite working authors. Liked Mitchner, Ludlum, Uris, Hemmingway---

Not such a Sandford fan but the other two are great to me, in fact I'm in the middle of Lee Child's "Worth Dying For" as I type this, the only one of his books that I thought was not up to par was the one, forgot the name, where he had a bunch of old Army buddies helping him. Have read all the Robicheaux books in the library. Had the "Worth Dying For" on reserve. Also like the David Baldacci "Camel Club" books a lot. My two favorite books are Thomas Perry's "The Butcher's Boy" and "Sleeping Dogs", they have the same hero/anti-hero, a hit man, may be out of print but think you can get them from Amazon.
Got Kindle for Mac for my mini and my daughter has me on her Kindle account but I have found out I don't like reading at my mini desk so am thinking of getting an iPad.

Just finished "The Dummy Line" It's about a father who takes his daughter on a weekend Turkey hunt in Alabama. Things go terribly wrong. If I had one book to recomend it would be "KINDRED" by TJ MacGregor
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just going to ask them where they're goin' and hook up with them later.

The Dummy Line. Best outdoor novel since Deliverence. Father and daughter on a turkey hunt + druggies in the woods.
