Went to see it this afternoon and it was great. Bridges is not the Duke but he does a good job.

Just not going out of the way to see it. I don't think Hollywood can remember how to make a western.

Okay, guys... I was pretty skeptical about this one. Really wasn't sure what to expect, but I have to say that this movie is EXCELLENT!!! Went to see it yesterday and am really glad I did. Bridges is no John Wayne, but he was awesome in this role. Best new movie I have seen in a very long time.

john wayne was way over rated as an actor. he played the same part in every movie he ever made. don't understand why folks were so crazy about him. of course i feel the same way about the beatles and elvis. meh.

I saw it Sunday with the Mrs. It was a great movie for me. Ranks right up there with Silverado. I appreciated that the sceanery was more like the area depicted than the first movie.
I will never understand why both John and Jeff rode righ past Ned pepper's horse and rode Little Blacky to death. Ned didn't need him anymore.

I saw it and thought it was very good. Bridges does a great job and shouldn't be compared to John Wayne. I like John Wayne, but he always played the same character every time..... John Wayne. This version of Grit is more true to the book.

I differ with some of you guys. I grew up watching any and all of John Wayne's movies and could only wish there was as good an actor nowadays. Yea, JW did act as the same guy in all his movies...which made him the BEST. He was ALWAYS the toughest guy on the block so there wasnt any need to change that! I havent seen the new movie yet but plan on it. Thanks for all the feedback. Makes me want to see if sooner than waiting on DVD.
