Default I haven't failed any test

Seems everyone thinks America has failed the the test, actually it seems they want to put the blame on Bush more than anything. Well I didn't fail any test, I'm responsible for myself and my family. I'm not going to sit around and wait for any govt. local, state or fed to bail me out. I've worked hard all my life for the things I have and I'm damn well going to do my best to preserve them. For all you folks that think Bush failed, or America failed, maybe you might think about getting your own ducks in order. My thoughts and prayers go out to the sick and elderly that died or suffered thru the storm. But it was not Bush who was responsible to get them out, it was the city and local govt responsiblity and they didn't call for the help to get people out before the storm. My heart also goes out to those who lost everything they've worked all their lives for. But to tell the truth I'm about sick of hearing all this complaining from folks that never had a damn thing and just lived off the govt their whole lives anyhow.
The photo post that Don G put up really tugged at my heart. There was a community that suffered through earlier storms and rebuilt, and now were prepared to do it again. Proud people, American people, ones that ain't sitting there whining, but getting on with the business at hand and taking care of themselves. These are the people that built America and made it the place it is today. I'm damned proud of those folks and others like them thru out America. It's my belief you could give all those whiners and complainers all the resources in the world and they probably couldn't help themselves! Proud people, hard working people, people who know they have the responsibilty for themselves are the ones who make a difference in the world. Not those that sit and wait for someone else's help. I'm sure I'll ruffle alot of feathers with this post. I'm not going to debate anyone over it either. That's my stance, If my fellow man needs help, I'll be there for them, but if they are able, they'd better be trying to help themselves first rather than waiting on me.

I've steered clear of posting on this subject...but I gotta back you 100% Shellback! Not to toot my own horn...but we got flooded pretty bad back last september....our damage (at my business) was more or less just a huge muddy mess, but we were out of power for 4 days, which created a loss of business resulting in a dollar amount of around 15k. My employees (3 of them) had their own flood related issues at home, but I paid them the 4 days becuase I could. I was approached by FEMA with all the forms I needed to be reimbursed for paying my men, and loss of business (no guarantee of course)...I declined....which was easy to do when my closest business neighbors lost everything.

    Well spoken sir.

P.S. The only government agency that is worth a damn, is our military. :D

I agree - best not to count on anyone like the govt. or police to do
anything for you. If they do, good - but don't bet the farm on it.
