Steven, in a month or so this CDC will be more active same as the weather and the bite. Hang here in there, maybe post again.
With my limited knowledge I can see bank fishing for crappie being very difficult (but not for everyone) except for the spawn.
Are you trying the smaller ponds, strip pits etc. Look for water with less pressure.
The TN guys seem to be less active or tighter lipped on CDC (not meant to be an affront to anyone).
We nab alot of crappie pre and post spawn in the feeder creeks with 8-15 FOW.
If you have a good accessible spot but not a lot of success maybe build some crappie beds and sink em. Check with TN fish and game though. Mo encourages it.
