    With this cold evening we are having, mixed up a pot of chili. Fresh ground beef, coarse ground - had to push the button outside the butcher section to tell them what I wanted. They won't let me walk back there anymore.

    Red because of the ancho chile and red bell peppers - no tomato whatever, nor "chili powder" (whatever that is), nor beans. Will work nicely with a homemade cheesecake Ann made. Checked on Ernie, he's relaxing in my bed:

    Bacon wrapped whatyoumacallit looks great. Anything wrapped with that much bacon has got to be good, even a rotten log.
