Close call before the storm

This afternoon I see the rains coming so I make a quick run to the grocery store before it hits. I am checking out and the phone rings. It is my son. He says guess what I am on Black Bayou and Paw Paw's boat broke down on me. So I hurry home unload groceries and hook up to my boat as the rain drops start. My phone is beeping a severe storm alert. The wind is blowing hard. I drive 80 mph to the launch. 2 guys at the launch help me launch. Boat cranks like it was warmed up. I find him almost to the Intracoastal. It took 45 minutes to tow him back. The bottom fell out when I pulled my boat out of the water. One thing is for sure someone was watching out for us. That storm stalled just long enough for me to get him.
