We have an old cast iron bell that must be 100 years old.....during hurricane Gustav a tree limb fell and broke it....I offered to get the wife a new one but she wants this one repaired....I realize that it will not sound the same but that does not matter to her...
So, anyone know where I can get this done in the Baton Rouge area.....thanks in advance for any help.....

Any reputable welding shop can pre heat that and weld it with a nickle rod

Bruce if I was still working I'd have it done in a jiffy for you. I hope you find someone who can fix it. It won't ring the same and I wouldn't ring it hard because that could cause it to crack again because of the dissimilar metals and the hardness and stress at the weld, but it should be able to be put back together. In my day I did some amazing repair on cast items, things no one else would touch.

I was teaching an Industrial Maint. course I was surprised to find there is a Foundry somewhere in south Louisiana around Laffiette still making Cast Iron and making parts used to the Specifications of its Coustomers. It could be , that it could be Repaired by them using Cast Iron with the Equipment that could heat treat it during the cooling process
