Tigerfan here in OK CNG is sold by the GGE, easy to compare price that way. I looked at the CNG stations in your area, no idea why they are that high. Here in Oklahoma 0.99 is the going price.

Our new governor laid it all on the line yesterday due to the extreme loss of oil revenue in the state. The current price of oil. The TOPS scholarship program has now been suspended for the current college kids. 4,700 roughly in the university here in Lafayette. The parents polled for those scholarship programs roughly 90 % stated that without TOPS the kids will not be able to attend. My kids had the TOPS program due to extremely good grades in high school - now college educated.
He also has proposed the largest tax increase in history for the state of Louisiana. Has also threatened shutting down LSU athletic programs, etc. I understand how this all works, the loss has to be made up somewhere. It's simple economics.
What I don't understand is those folks rejoicing over the price of gasoline at the pumps when they haven't a clue of the big picture. Maybe it's ignorance, or selfishness, or both.
Tracker, I choose to think that the low price celebrators, just haven't seen the big picture yet. This is getting ridiculous I am paying .39 a GGE for CNG. I did not misplace a 1 either.

You're absolutely correct Redge, there are consequences to such things.
The HOA (home owners associations) in some neighborhoods in Lafayette sent letters to home owners telling them to quit putting For Sale signs in their yards. Looks bad for these neighborhoods. Most certainly is. The low cost rental homes/apartments are booked up, folks bailing and taking them up. The price to fill-up in fuel is certainly cheaper, but zero money is spent elsewhere. Folks will pay on the backside and don't know it, regardless. Just sayin.....
It is sad to say, but for the next year will be a good time to buy some new/used toys. I personally know several guys (oilfield) that are way over extended and having to sell toys to stay somewhat afloat. Hadn't thought about the housing market. Guess in reality it affects everything, if you think about it.
Thankfully my house and toys are paid for so I am good. So far.

The shutting down of athletic programs is mostly a scare tactic, so that everyone will be more open to the tax hikes. The only way LSU athletics, especially football, is going to shutdown would be because of a lack of academic funding. At that point, we have way bigger issues than football; smaller universities would have shutdown. The football program is self-sustained and is always giving money to the academic fund.Quote:
