George....whats wrong is all this stuff is designed by engineers instead of mechanics If a mechanic had designed it...It would have had temperature sensors and the indicator lights would have been where you could see it instead of having to remove a cover.

Hardy, har, har. Sensors and indicator lights can, and do, malfunction. The nature of the beast. If a redundant system was in place, that would be a different story.

Anything built by man can malfunction.....but stuff thats built right seems to hold up longer and perform better.

Exactly, when unsure, unplug it. And, who's to know if it was built right. Or, if component price fluctuations was decided the assembler (not the manufacturer) to change components to a cheaper version due to the economics involved. Yours truly, just doesn't know for sure. Therefore, I'll unplug mine.

I won't leave mine plugged all the time. They are like pit bulls. I don't want to be the one to say , It never did anything like that before. Right after a kid was mauled and killed, or in this case a battery blew up. And by the way I worked on an electronic weapons control system on $50 million dollar jets. I do know electronics can fail sometimes. And I slept in a few express holiday inns. To each his own, these opinions are mine only, and now I'm a hillbilly not a cajun. HAHA

Lol....you guys do what you want to......but there is lots more serious things to worry about than a battery blowing up. If it was that bad we would be hearing about it all the time. Having been a technician for over 40 years....i have only seen two batterys blow up and they were both on cars and blew up key turned off and parked. It just dosent happen that much.

My daughter Debbie (not her in pic) just lost her 11 year old Brazilian Mastic (Zar).....big dog 150#...he had been ill for some time.....she noticed when she went to work Sunday morning that he did not eat....she came home from work a little early and he was lying in the floor not very responsive....she got down and lay his head in her lap and he passed away 20 minutes later....he waited till she got home before he let go....lots of love between those two....
