Adam, I've crossed it many times on my way to visit my brother. We'd turn off on the next exit to Frankewing and follow the small river. Now you can go a little further and take Highway 64 to Fayetteville. It's a faster drive but nowhere as pretty.

48 years ago today, man landed on the moon. I remember exactly where I was that day. Saw it on the television in West Texas on an old TV we had. You know the type, on occasion when the television puked, we had to pull all the tubes out and go to the grocery store where they had a machine to test the tubes. A cabinet below had replacement tubes. Back in business and away we go.

    Yes, remember that day clearly.

I remember those days well.....we also did the same with our radios...sit around at night on the floor by the radio with the lights out and listen to things like The Shadow, Amos & Andy, Mr. District Attorney, Red Skelton, Jack Benny, Dragnet, Fibber Mcgee & Molly, The Green Hornet, The Inner Sanctum, This Is Your FBI, The Life Of Riley, & The Twilight Zone.....just to name a few.....if you can remember these.....you are over the hill....

What aggravated me was the horizontal and vertical knobs on the television. One had to get that just right to keep from skipping up and down and right to left. Very sensitive those knobs were. Where were you when man landed on the moon?

Calling it good, Ann made a nice meatloaf - then off to a good book.

Bruce I guess I'm over the hill then, cuz I remember them well. I remember listening to Dragnet on Thursday night and then watching the same show on the TV on Friday. My dad love to listen to the baseball games also. I remember one knight when my aunt and uncle were home listening to the radio with Mom and Dad when the announcer interrupted the program to tell us that Hank Williams had died in a car crash. Then I remember the talk that night about how he was a heavy drinker. I was nine years old then. I also remember having to rotate the antenna to get the best picture. Those were the days my friend, oh wait, that was Mary Hopkins song.

One funny thing I remember about the day we landed on the moon, it was a couple of hours after the landing and Neil Armstrong was about to step out of the lunar lander for the first time. Dad and I were watching the TV and Mom was in the kitchen washing dishes. I called, "Mom, come see, he's about to step on the moon!" She called back, "In a minute, I've got to finish these dishes." She missed the big moment!
