I think I'm on to somethin.........no Danny, not that stuff, but when i go fishing,I got so much stuff to fish with I don't get any practice with any of it....sooooo I am scaling back what I take out on the water so I can concentrate on better fishing....and the shiners I brought the other day mostly died any way...so I may be done with them any how for the summer.....

Put your shiners in a small ice chest and put a air pump on it

I quit using the aerator....the noise rattled my entire boat and let the sacs know I was there...and I tried several....I picked up on Slab's idea of adding ice every now & then...cools them off and adds oxygen....also I add that blue stuff in a small bottle....8 drops with every new bag of shiners I add to my insulated shiner bucket...seems to work...I leave them in the air filled plastic bag till I get low.....

I started using the Engle shiner container instead of the front bait well in my boat with an aerator (which I only use during the summer). And yes, always keep the ice to them. If you fellas remember the time at the Toledo Bend gathering when it snowed and very cold, I had a regular minnow bucket with shiners in. The next morning it had a 1/4" sheet of ice on it and the shiners were lively as can be.

Naw don't remember that at all! lol I had the same thing. I had forgot my minnow net in the bucket with the shiners and I had a couple of shiners in the net with a 1/4" of ice on top of them and they were very lively also!
