    Hey T123,

    Looks nice. I've seen some old fans run off a belt. I would think you could eliminate the blue tooth and wire the fan direct with little trouble.

    Thanks JR, have also seen some old fans run off a belt as well - too cool. I investigated wiring direct eliminating the blue tooth. Those fans don't allow for a switch at the fan itself for fan speed control or light control, thus pull chain switches required. The blue tooth communicates to a control unit in the fan that does that. I guess what I could have done was cut the control unit out and throw it in the trash. Then, install the switches myself. With limited space to work with, being hung on exposed rafters, I figured it would have been tough/challenging.
