I just got back from a trip to Branson, Mo on a family vacation and while the shows were fun to see (Shoji especially) the highlight of the trip was the fishing. Originally I wanted to wade and fly fish for the trout, but they released a lot of water from the dam on the day we were scheduled to go. We had to settle with a boat trip (crowded and a bit misled how many could fish from the boat). Overall, it was a much different type of fishing than I'm used to.

The bite was really quick and soft which led to missing a lot of the fish. Coming from a redfish/speckled trout background, this was strange to us. Being able to see 10ft to the bottom and seeing 7-8 trout swimming next to a drop off was awesome. This was the only time in my life that I've been able to say that I caught to many big fish with the slot of 12-20" having to be released. At the end of the trip I hooked the fish on the top left and we were below the stream marker so that we could keep any size.
