    Randy, your black berries come in alot earlier than mine do. I picked ONE yesterday and the others are just starting to turn red. Now the dewberries have been in for about 2 weeks and are on the down fall. Alot of people don't know the difference but from the looks of your berries, those are definetely black berries. For those that don't know, black berries grow on a bush and dewberries are the ones you see growing along the fence lines on the sides of the roads. Generally the dewberries are generally smaller and usually alot sweeter.

    Randy, I do have an excellent cobbler recipe that I would be willing to share with you! It is my grandmother's recipe. I made this one at the toledo gathering if you were able to taste it.

    Hard to believe you are picking them . I don't they have bloomed in this part of the country.

    Yesterday made me think about my Mom, who has been gone since 1978. This make's me think about the blackberry dumplin's she would make. Still can remember the taste. Man they were good.

    Dwayne, send it to me - would love to try it. Didn't have the chance to try it at the Toledo gathering because the folks wiped it out before I got to it

    Thanks Danny, those blackberry dumplings sound interesting. I have plenty this year that's for sure.
